A new online article reminds us all of the health benefits of consuming water. Everyone who drinks water can tell you they just “feel better,” but what many people don’t know if how or why they feel and look better just from drinking plenty of water each day. Water is crucial for any living thing, and carries nutrients to every single cell in the body. These cells need water to work properly, and each body is made up of a certain percentage of water. The human body consists of certain percentages based on the gender, condition, and age of the person. According to the information in the article; babies 78%, adult men 60%, and adult females 55%. As the percentages show, water decreases in the body as age increases. The largest decrease tends to happen during the first ten years of life. The condition of the person, such as obesity, also plays a role in the water in the body. So as we age, it is important to provide our bodies with sufficient amounts of water.

But too much water can be harmful, as well as getting too little of water. In the article, these health concerns are explained clearly. “Drinking too much water can burden your circulatory system, trigger anxiety upon your heart and / or kidneys, trigger inter-cranial pressure, cause hyponatremia, a condition having too small sodium in the blood. “ Likewise, too much water can also cause health issues from mild headaches, to impaired breathing and in extreme cases, even death. On the other hand, not drinking enough water can cause dehydration to the vital organs in the body and the condition on the skin.” By far, however, most people suffer from not drinking nearly enough.

Water is also important to the skin because skin is the largest organ in the body. When skin does not receive the proper amount of water, it can turn into “tight, dry flaky skin, less resilient, prone to wrinkling, develop acne and more. Water replenishes skin tissue, moisturizes, increases skin elasticity, flushes out toxins, improves blood circulation, increases energy and helps to present a much more youthful, radiant, complexion.” Therefore, the “Mayo Clinic suggests the “8 x 8″ rule of drinking eight glasses of water, 8 ounces each and every, everyday.”

But some tap water has harmful contaminants and toxins, which increase when a consumer tries to increase their water intake. That substance which one may think is making them healthier may actually be harming them. Water treatment systems like water coolers, water filtration systems, reverse osmosis, and water conditioners can give consumers the option of increasing the amount of water without increasing the contaminants. It is important to find a trustworthy and knowledgeable water company which will provide you with consistently great tasting water, options for being eco-friendly, affordability, and long-lasting products. With something so important and crucial to our sustainability, consumers should find products which will give them safe, clean drinking water, no matter how much they need to drink. No one should get sick from their drinking water, and everyone deserves to be as healthy as they can be. Look great and feel great, all thanks to safe drinking water.

It was recently in the headlines. Perchlorate. This naturally occurring and manmade contaminant has been increasingly found in groundwater, surface water and soil. Most perchlorate manufactured in the U.S. is used as an ingredient in solid fuel for rockets and missiles. It was found in higher quantities than is recommended by federal regulations. The tests recently shut down several area hotels and restaurants, stating that they could not serve water or anything using water. Residents were told they could shower and utilize the water except for consuming it in any form. What is the danger if this substance is consumed in large quantities? According to many drinking water sites, the chemical can have an effect on the thyroid functions of humans. This alone is dangerous enough to cause concern. Another report states that it is “present in many public drinking-water supplies, says daily ingestion of up to 0.0007 milligrams per kilogram of body weight can occur without adversely affecting the health of even the most sensitive populations. That amount is more than 20 times the “reference dose” proposed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in a recent draft risk assessment.”

How can you ensure that you can remove perchlorate from your family’s drinking water without worrying about these regulations and possible dangers? Locate a nearby water treatment company and gather more information about their home water treatment systems. According to the EPA, perchlorate can be removed by reverse osmosis technology which has been certified by NSF International to remove perchlorate from levels as high as 130 µg/L to 4 µg/L or less in drinking water. However, before installing a home treatment unit, they recommend that you do your research to determine if the unit you choose can remove perchlorate from your water supply. Don’t wait for the effects to show up. Protect your home by purchasing an affordable home reverse osmosis system or water purifying water cooler.

Water is big business. In the US alone, $35 Billion dollars is spent annually on bottled drinking water. Small and large businesses alike, non-profit organizations and municipalities have been convinced, like the general public, that spending big money on bottled water equaled a better product to drink. But the fiscal impact, damage to the environment, and fractured employee relationships has led many organizations to revisit how they value our most precious commodity – water.

The Water Bottle Nation
Over the last 15 years, water bottle use has increased dramatically and drinking a cup of water from the tap is now considered inferior to prepackaged water bottles. In the US alone, 1500 plastic water bottles are consumed every second. Though recycling programs exist almost everywhere, 80% of these bottles will end up in landfills where even the smallest piece of plastic will never biodegrade. Water that could cost mere pennies from the tap is costing thousands and hitting corporate budgets hard.

Work Place Community
Traditionally a walk over to the office water cooler meant a chance encounter with co-workers to catch up on the latest must-see TV moments, the political blunder of the day, and to visit with each other. This kind of interaction builds relationships and strengthens workplace communities. Over time, the water bottle nation has removed this central gathering place from the office and while this seems like a simple change, a lack of employee unity can cause quality of work to suffer.

Bring Back the Water Cooler
Citing the environmental impact, budget concerns and quality of the workplace, corporations and cities nationwide have voted to stop purchasing bottled water for their offices and are instead investing in water coolers that filter tap water. By installing systems that utilize the tap water coming into the building, water coolers and water cabinets are making a comeback. Businesses find that they save money and eliminate the hassle of storing cases of water as well as the cost of replacing and cleaning filters in those 5 gallon water dispensers. Rental programs that provide all services for one low monthly fee – without the hassle of putting bottles out for pickup – are efficient and cost effective as well as environmentally conscious.

And that is great for business.

My Water Drinking Recommendations for Patients With Back Pain

At this time, I recommend that my patients who are sedentary and not exposed to extreme temperatures (over 85 degrees Fahrenheit) consume 40-50 percent of their body weight in ounces of water. So, a patient weighing 150 pounds should consider the consumption of 60-75 ounces of water per day. Water sources include food and certain beverages, so an individual should be able to gain 20 percent of their water needs from a balanced diet. I do not consider soda, coffee, alcohol, and black teas to be good sources of water because of their diuretic effects. There are various opinions about the water content values of beverages, but I won’t entertain those discussions in this article.

How to Avoid Back Pain by Drinking Water

If you want to avoid painful back spasms, I suggest that you consume more water before, during, and after you begin your gardening chores or any increased physical exertion. Don’t wait until you are thirsty to drink water. You may avoid painful and sometimes expensive episodes of back pain at any time of the year by drinking more water.

Hydration is a topic of special interest, about which he plans further research efforts.

Staying properly hydrated is necessary to avoid fatigue, headache, dry mouth, dizziness, and weakness. The Institute of Medicine recommends men drink about 100 ounces of water per day and women drink about 74 ounces. You should adjust your water intake upwards when exercising, especially in heat and humidity.

A good rule is to drink one-half your body weight in ounces everyday. You get about 20% of your fluids from food, so the rest should come from water. So if you weigh 200 pounds, you should drink at least 80 ounces of water a day coupled with the 20% of fluids you get from food to achieve one-half your body weight in ounces.

Can you supplement your fluid intake with coffee, tea, soft drinks or alcohol to reach your fluid goal and stay properly hydrated? Actually, coffee, tea, soft drinks and alcohol are diuretics and cause you to lose body fluids resulting in dehydration.

A Boncor Drinking Water System will provide you and your family all of the good fresh drinking water you need to stay properly hydrated. Boncor Drinking Water Systems processes your tap water through reverse osmosis, carbon and sediment filtration giving you great tasting drinking water and plenty of it. With a Boncor drinking water system you’ll have enough fresh water everyday to make coffee, tea, juices, ice cubes, cook your vegetables, etc – in many cases we can run an ice-line to your refrigerator. Did you know 90% of pasta is water? So make your pasta with great tasting water from a Boncor drinking water system.

Avoid the high cost of bottled water with a Boncor Drinking Water System. For less than $1 per day or pennies per gallon, you can enjoy the convenience of a Boncor Drinking Water System under your kitchen sink with a drinking water faucet right at your fingertips.

Boncor Drinking Water service is available in San Diego County: Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Escondido, Vista, Oceanside, Carlsbad, San Marcos, Fallbrook, Bonsall, Encinitas, Valley Center, Pauma Valley, Ramona, Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch, Rancho Penasquitos, Solana Beach, Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe.
